Why we're here
The essence of Mission & Outreach at St. Benedict's Episcopal Church is to share the love of God in Christ with those who are in need. Love becomes sacramental when it is experienced through the physical, tangible expressions of giving food, offering books or supplies, helping to pick weeds from a playground, and offering a helping hand to someone who is in need.
The Low Country Boil has grown from a casual Sunday brunch into the fun dinner & auction we know today, raising over $21k in 2023! All of the money raised goes towards the outreach ministries of St. Benedict's, supporting those who are living with less than they and their families need. Path To Shine®, Inc. is just one of the programs that are near and dear to St. Benedict's Mission & Outreach.
Path To Shine was founded in 2010 on St. Benedict's campus. PTS is a nonprofit mentoring program for K-5 elementary school children. Encouraging children to DREAM BIG is PTS's mission, and helping these children fall in love with learning is their goal. We know that when children love to learn, so many successful paths become available to them. It's the key to unlocking their PATH TO SHINE both in and out of the classroom!
